Review of Kanye West at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City

Last night's show was astounding. Kanye West is a phenomenal artist
who knows how to put on a good show. With all the animated scenery
and futuristic backdrops,it added more emotion to his performance.
The following is a snippet of Kanye performing "Homecoming".

 

 

Not only does Kanye put on a great show, He is also arguably the best
dress rapper in the game. In all white last night, West kept the nature
inspired themes going. A decorative feather mask that made him appear
as a snow creature along with a diamond encrusted face mask from the
runway. A couture level concert again from Mr.West.  Fake snow fell
from the sky with the sound of a blizzard swarming the auditorium. The
visual aspect of the show is just as important as fashion in Kanye's eyes.

Kanye performed songs like Golddigger,Good Life  and the more recent Clique to the delight of his fans.
The impact of his music is priceless and last night's concert was a
breathtaking moment. Just wish he would have been on stage longer.
Kanye performed slightly over 75 minutes. More photos to trip off

Sixers News & Talk ,Lakers & Atlanta Games

This week of Sixers Review dissects the Los Angeles Lakers and
Atlanta Hawks game. I was able to attend both games. The Sixers
played shorthanded against the Lakers and were without the services
of Jrue Holiday. Kobe Bryant played an outstanding game. He scored
34 points on 12-21 shooting. Kobe had 4 rebounds and 6 assists.
He was scoring effortlessly and put on an array of moves and ball
handling to the delight of the crowd. The 20,000 in attendance showed
the appreciation of his play with the oohs and ahhs throughout  the
Wells Fargo Center.
The Sixers lack the defensive intensity to stay with the Lakers. They
did not defend the 3 point line and gave up 14 threes. If Holiday played,
the game would have been more competitive.

The Atlanta game last night was totally opposite. Holiday returned and
was hitting his shot. The Sixers showed strong defensive pressure and
double the post players of Atlanta. Evan Turner led the way with 21
points.  Thad Young added 18 and had two outstanding hustle plays.
One was a play where he battled two defenders for consecutive put backs,
the result being a lay up.
Lou Williams returned and was warmly received by the crowd. The Sixers
showed a video of one of Lou's game winning moments while in Philly.
The Sixers are headed on the road and hope to have Andrew Bynum back
sometime soon.

Beyonce & Rihanna Celebrity/Gaming Predictions 2013

The follow predictions are meant for entertainment purposes and Twitter/
Facebook discussions. Enjoy them!

Beyonce will participate in the most watch Super Bowl halftime event
ever. This will take place in February along with her HBO documentary.
Her latest CD will debut sometime prior to summer at number one on
Billboard. A great year for her.

Rihanna and Chris Brown will break up again while she is involved in the
Diamond Tour. She is giving hints that they may not make it out of 2012.
She is forgiving and loves Brown. An indiscretion with an ex girlfriend
can be worked out. She will be more provocative than ever. Her recent
semi nude photos and racy tweets will promote the tour.She appears in
Philly in March and I'll be attending her show.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will get engaged by the fall of 2013.
The matching outfits and media attention will escalate to the talk of a
fabulous wedding. I don't see it in 2013 but the possibility is there for
2014. Two major egos have a hard time staying in the same relationship.
They do make for good photos.

In Gaming, Revel will start to grow it's share of the market in Atlantic City.
This will come at the expense of another hotel demise. Someone
will close in 2013. The recovery from Sandy will not take place quick
enough to maintain the current compliment of casinos.

Mobile Gaming will slowly move into Atlantic City. The summer will
start the introduction of devices that will allow gaming on property away
from the casino floor.

Online Gaming will start in Nevada on a small scale. The I Gaming
North America conference that I 'm attending in February will promote
the further expansion of Internet gaming. Follow me at the conference

Facebook Aspiring Stars in 2013

I have several candidates for my aspiring person of the week starting in
January 2013. I added an additional criteria to be selected. You must
have a presence on Facebook to merit consideration. I may expand it to
include Twitter after the first month.
The reason for this change is to give the person as much exposure as
possible. Facebook maximizes the opportunity.
My first candidate is an actor from Philadelphia.My post about him will
appear the first week in January.

The person must be holding down a 40
hour a week job and pursuing a dream. Sound like someone you know?
The dream could be attaining a degree,landing a part in a stage or theatre
production or anything in between. I'll ask the person 7 questions that
will give a capsule version of their journey. This will give that person
additional exposure and serve as motivation to others.

So start thinking about that person that could fit the above description.

Revel Hotel & Casino Customer Review

Just finish reading the article in the Philadelphia Inquirer on Revel Hotel
and Casino. The piece dealt with the Revel gaming customer  and why
the casino is not doing well.
Revel appears to be making it's mark with the non gaming amenities. The
restaurants,HQ Nightclub and mid week business seem to be doing good.
The number that most casino operators are gauge by is gaming revenue.
Revel is not faring well there.
This was not the focus of Revel from it's inception. Their model is to sell
the guest on the facility and everything it has to offer. The gaming tables
are like dessert.
In order for this to change, a shift in perspective for 2013 is in order. Nothing radical. Revel has define who they are and what they want to be. There is a place for them in the Atlantic City market.
It will take time to grow and cultivate the gaming player they want.
A player that is a non smoker, younger than 40 years of age with disposable income. Revel should also look for innovative ways to improve the gaming
numbers on Thursday and Friday.
I see Revel as a game changer. Most of the Atlantic City region saw them
as the savior that would jump start everyone else. They are not! The
changes in marketing strategy for 2013 will determine Revel's success.

HBO has Pacquiao vs Marquez / Numero Cuatro

Pacquiao vs Marquez - Act Four

I am really tempted to purchase the Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel
Marquez fight tonight on pay per view. Most times,I save my money
for Floyd Mayweather. This fight will be historic because this will
surely be the final time they meet in the ring.
The first 36 rounds and 3 times they fought have ended in a draw and
two narrow decisions in favor of Pacquiao. Marquez feels that he won
all three fights. Pacquiao had stated he will be more aggressive and
press the action.Marquez is stronger than in the previous bouts.He may
fight his normal counter punching style.
The consensus of sportswriters around the country favor Pacquiao by
decision. I agreed. Marquez is 39 years old and father time is coming
in the ring with him.

                The cost of the fight is 59.99 on HBO Pay per View.

Meadowlands and Atlantic City wishes for Sports Betting in 2013

If the racetracks in New Jersey and the casinos in Atlantic City have one wish for Christmas, I know what it would be. They want Sports Betting
so bad they would give up the revenue they generate on New Year's Eve.
Maybe not all of it, but it is important to them going into 2013.
Sports Betting is able to give New Jersey a competitive advantage over
every gaming jurisdiction on the east coast. They would be able to offer
everything that Nevada presently has. It would allow New Jersey and
Atlantic City in particular, to become a destination oppose to a day trip
environment.
The Meadowlands and other racetracks will also be able to accept wagers
on NFL,NBA, NHL, and major league baseball. Although the hold percentage on Sports Betting is not extremely high the handle is tremendous. The interest would spill over in the other gaming offerings
and non gaming amenities.
The sports leagues have aligned to file an injunction against the initiation
of sports wagering. They cite the integrity of the game as one of the reasons.
Not a strong argument when other states have the capability to accept bets.
The NBA,NFL and NHL are all positioning themselves as global organizations. Sports Betting is conducted thru out the world. Why not
New Jersey? If it were up to me, I would allow betting on the professional
leagues and ban wagering on the collegiate level. A judge will give a ruling sometime this month. Stay tuned!

R. Kelly Mujeres Solteras Concierto a Filadelfia

El concierto "Mujeres Solteras" de R. Kelly llego a Filadelfia este pasado viernes en el Tower Theather. El Tower no es el mejor lugar en la ciudad para tener conciertos pero es conveniente y accesible ya que esta en el centro.

 

Para empezar la cantante Tamia abrió el show de R. Kelly. Disfrutamos de su participación por 35 minutos, ella canto los favoritos de sus fans como "Beautiful Surprise" y "Stranger in my House" también incluyo la canción que la llevo al descubrimiento con el productor Quincy Jones "You put a Move on my Heart". El publico la despidió de pie y con fuertes aplausos.

R. Kelly subió a la tarima 40 minutos despues. Inicio su entrada con "Your Body Calling Me" la canto con su tempo usual, luego al paso y termino fuerte. Pudimos disfrutar de sus éxitos desde "Bump N Grind" hasta "Ignition". El cantante sorprendió al publico con detalles nuevos, como una opera de teatro y un karaoke en el cual pudimos participar por 10 minutos mientras el interactuaba con la multitud.

R. Kelly cerro su espectaculo de dos horas con "I Believe I Can Fly" y "When a Woman Loves" despidio la noche con "Step in The Name of Love".

 

El publico de R. Kelly es adulto, maduro y son sus verdaderos fans. Sus exitos son tantos que solo pudo cantar los mas populares en el concierto. Asi que ya sabes el tour de solteras estara en una ciudad cerca de ti, te lo recomiendo!
