Rihanna Concert News from Philly 2013

My day started with anticipation of seeing Rihanna live for the first time. I went and purchased her latest CD and played it throughout the day. I even checked the Internet every hour hoping that she did not cancel this performance due to illness. This was the case in Boston and Baltimore over the past 5 days. I stopped at XFinity Live before entering the Wells Fargo Center. Rihanna took the stage over 1 hour after her opening act.

The packed house didn't seem to mind the wait. Following an opening set from rising hip-hop star A$ap Rocky, Rihanna, backed by a four-piece band, 8 dancers, and a pair of harmony vocalists, opened with "Phresh Out the Runway" and was greeted by a deafening roar.

The show, presented in three acts, with costume and set changes, concentrated on songs from the star's 2012 album "Unapologetic". The crowd was 75% female. Most were dressed in a style similiar to Rihanna.
Sexy and Provacative.

The show was spectacle to the max, as Rihanna debuted multiple sexy costume changes. She busted out a dazzling leather bustier outfit, a black blouse with thigh-high boots, a gorgeous red dress that exposed her mid-section, and a see-through long black top with futuristic white heeled boots.

Rihanna sang about 18 songs over the hour and forty five minute set. She
did a good job on "Rude Boy" and "Rockstar" from the 2009 album "Rated R". Oddly, not one song of her and Chris Brown together. I did want to hear "Nobody's Business".

I was impressed with "Hate that I Love You'" and "Talk that Talk".  She
did curse a lot during the show but that goes along with the edge that is
Rihanna. She danced and gyrated through most of her songs. The crowd stood through most her performance. Video of Rihanna and Neyo below.

Rihanna closed the night with her latest single from 'Unapologetic", "Stay".
She killed it!  The video of that song is next.

She ended the performance with "Diamonds".  I enjoyed her show. When you see her, do not compare her show to Beyonce's. They share great choregraphy and costume changes.
Beyonce has a greater range as a singer. Rihanna tantalizes with "watch me cause you don't know what I'm gonna do next" style. She is worth the attention and the money. $$$.

+Rihanna is performing at +Revel on April 26.
