Online Gaming Talk in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania legislature heard from several casino executives on Tuesday about the prospect of
Online Gaming being part of the current gaming climate in the Commonwealth. A prominent group
representing most of the casinos were present. Needless to say, there were several contrasting opinions.

The views range from taking a wait and see approach of approximately 1 year and then moving forward, to attempting to react now with a Poker only bill for any casino in the state. Sands Bethlehem  was one of the dissenters that did not support any form of gambling online.

I 'll weigh in now. I know the Commonwealth is looking for a revenue stream to help shore up the budget. A rush would not fix any needs for 2014-2015.  It would be more prudent to wait and see New Jersey and Nevada numbers over a year. That means waiting 6 months until December and acting on a bill sometime in 2015.

Poker seems like the easier lift that most legislators will support. It does have a community that is established and already playing online. A complement to the current brick and mortar casinos
would be to offer all the games. This way you grow your business.
Since I have been involved with the online gaming concepts over 3 years now, I know the ideas and the operators that have shown signs of success. I'll share some of the strategies I acquired in a future post.
