Gene is a really good guy. I've known him professionally for over a year
because of our interactions at the East Coast Gaming Conference. After his
presentation, I asked him several questions.
1). How much revenue do you see online gaming bringing to Atlantic City?
"My estimate is on the conservative side. I see revenue approaching 250 to
300 million a year."
2). Do you see it growing the brick and mortar business? "Yes. The online
experience offers tangible rewards that can promote the brick and mortar
casino. Multi channel engagement can grow both."
3).Much has been made of the revenue gains Pennsylvania has made in
surpassing Atlantic City as the number two market. Will Online Gaming
narrow the gap? "Yes. This not a totally fair comparision when you compare a city to a state.
The North Jersey market that goes to Sands
and the South Jersey patrons that goes to Harrahs Chester will have an
incentive to return to Atlantic City."
4).What is the best model that we have presently for online gaming?
"The UK. The only detriment there is the high tax rate."
5).What market has the most growth potential. "Atlantic City. They are
agressively offering everything and have more population density.New
Jersey also has the capacity for compacting agreements."
I want to thank Gene for his time and candid answers. He can be reached
