NFL Games to watch - Week Two

 The NFL Games to watch in week two are on Thursday,Sunday and Monday Night Football. The Thursday Night  Football Game is on Amazon Prime.The Buffalo Bills will play the Miami Dolphins. Both teams are AFC East Rivals and won their home openers. The Bills have won 9 of the last 10 meetings between the two. Bills are underdog by 2.5. Miami is the home team/.

The Sunday Night Football Game has the Chicago Bears against the Houston Texans. The game is on NBC. The Bears nad a come from behind win against the Tennessee Titans. The Texans held on winning on the road by 2 points over the Indianapolis Colts. The Bear have the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft,QB Caleb Williams as their starter. The Texans are favored by 6 points. The game starts at 8:20 PM and Houston is the home team.

The Monday Night Football Game pits the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.The Eagles are the home team. Philly won their opener in Brazil by beating the Green Bay Packers 34-29. The Falcons lost their home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers without allowing a touchdown.The Eagles are favored by 6.5.

My selections in these games take s me to the home teams. Buffalo struggled with the Arizona Cardinals. The Dolphins should score more than 20 points they put up against the Jacksonville Jaguars. QB Josh Allen has a injury to his non throwing hamd but is expected to play.  Fins win a close game.

Thw Texans and Eagles should put up 24 or more points and easily handle the Bears and Falcons. The inexperience of Caleb Williams will be exploited. The rust,age and lack of mobility of QB Kirk Cousins will be on full display as the Eagles have extra time to prepare for the contest.  

Expect big games from Tyreek Hill,Stefon Diggs and Saquon Barkley.

The Top 1-0 NFL Teams

The  top five 1-0 teams in the NFL are the Dallas Cowboys,SanFrancisco 49ers,Kansas City Chiefs,Detroit Lions and Houston Texans. $ of these teams covered against the spread  and 80% of the 5 games went over. 

The Top 0-1 NFL Teams

The teams that should bounce back after losing in the final seconds of their openers are the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars. Key injuries to the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers keep them from making the cut.

The Worst 0-1 NFL Teams

The worst teams in the NFL include the Carolina Panthers.New York Giantsand the Las Vegas Raiders. The Panthers lost by over 30 points on the road. The Giants managed 6 points at home against the Minnesota Vikings. The Raiders lack of discipline and physicality on defense led to their loss on the road to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Avoid QBs Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers,Bryce Young and Daniel Jones as players to go over projected  totals in passing yardage. Check their prop action for the best price of any of this group throwing an interception in week two.

Mid Season MVP: Wilson or Mahomes

Russell Wilson is having a phenomenal year. He leads the NFL in touchdowns and his team is 6 -1. He has  thrown for 2151 yards. He has never won the MVP award. 

Patrick Mahomes is also playing excellent, He has thrown for 2315 yards & 21 TDs. His team is 6 -1.  He won MVP in 2018.

These two Super Bowl Champions have two of the top teams in football. They are being challenged by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The NFL AFC East and West

I wanted to share my ranking of the AFC East and West with you. I will give you the winner of both divisions and each teams projected record in the 1st seven games. My ranking will include the teams I think they will lose to. It will give you the key match up that you can look forward to. The reason I lock in on the 1st seven games is that will give you a sample size of what type of team they are. You can analyze them against the spread and how they fare in over/under totals. How they play at home and on the road. This will give you data to use for the second half of the season. Good Luck!

                                                        AFC East

1).Patriots- 7-0 The key match up in this period is opening night against the Steelers.

2).Jets- 2-5 New York will lose to the Pats twice, Eagles, Dallas & Browns. The key match up is a Monday Night Football Game against the Browns.

3).Bills- 3-4 Buffalo loses to Jets, Giants, Eagles and Patriots. The game to mark on your calendar is the home opener against the Bengals.

4).Dolphins- 0-7 The game to circle on the schedule is against Washington. It is a home game and both team project as looking for their 1st win.


                                                      AFC West

1) Chiefs- 6-1 Kansas City will lose to Raiders. The key match up is week six against Houston. This could be a playoff preview.

2).Chargers- 6-1  Chargers loses to Texans. The game to anticipate is week six against the Steelers. This has the making of a shoot out and an over.

3).Raiders- 4-3  Oakland loses to Vikings, Packers and Texans. The match up to watch will be week five in London against the Bears and Khalil Mack.

4)Broncos - 2-5  Denver will lose to Raiders, Bears, Packers, Chargers and Chiefs. Game to circle is week four against Jacksonville. Both teams should be looking for their 1st win.

NFL Conference Championship Games

The matches are set for the NFL Conference Championship Games. Kansas City Chiefs will play the New England Patriots and the Rams will play the Saints. Before we make a selection lets talk about the divisional games. We picked Indy and Dallas and lost both games on Saturday, We hit with Patriots and the Saints under on Sunday. Record was 2-2. When you include Wildcard weekend the record is 5-3.

Chiefs have the most electrifying offense in the league. They are explosive and will score 30 like it's nothing. Their defense played outstanding against Indy. We are not sure if that was a one time performance. We are sure that Mahomes is MVP of the league. Tom Brady is on his way to his ultimate goal.This is his 8th straight Championship game.They match up earlier this year with the Pats winning at home. Kansas City returns the favor. More weapons than Pats. Andy gets the best of Bill this time.

Rams showed the ideal balance against the Cowboys. Two players rushed for over 100 yards. The defense controlled Zeke Elliott Brees led Saints from 14 point deficit against the Eagles. The Saints offense is not as prolific as they were prior to the loss to the Cowboys in the regular season. They finish drives now with field goals. That is not the formula for success  against the Rams. This will be a lower scoring game than the last time these two teams squared off. We see the under as the play. More time of possession drives for both teams. It is currently at 56.5.  Saints in a game that they win by 9. Payton gets the best of McVay again,

NFL Elite Eight

We did well in the Wild Card Weekend round. Depending on when you got your bet down, Seahawks covered the 2.5 and pushed on the 2. Indy won outright and  the Eagles game went under. Ravens were not successful against the Chargers. 3-1 was the record.

So this week..

We like Indy with the points against the Chiefs. Indy has the formula that will keep the Chiefs at bay. Strong running game and long drives engineered by Andrew Luck. Mahomes had MVP season. This game will go over. Andy Reid exits playoff early again.

Cowboys have momentum. They are not as impressive on the road. Defense will travel and they will stop Todd Gurley. If you can find a prop bet that features Elliott vs. Gurley, take Zeke to have more rushing yards. Rams may have peaked too early. Take Boys and the points.

Patriots vs. Chargers. This one is easy. When you can get Brady and not lay a touchdown you take him. He is 7-0 against Rivers. Second straight cross country does not bode well. We are impress with the coach of the Chargers. But not over Belichick.

Eagles and Saints. Foles magic is still in the air. Dallas gave the blueprint on how to slow down Brees. It will work for a half.  Saints will finish more drives than Birds. If you must take this game go under. 50 is a lot in a playoff game.
